Under armed guard, and using the standard size cup, the Ship’s Purser served sailors from one to six ‘tots’ of rum (1/4 Gill each), depending on the conditions of war and weather. The tradition continued until the 1950s. Decorated with the stylized Crown and Anchor of the British Navy. Handmade in copper and brass, silver-plated inside. | |
